Vote Out Incumbents

Vote In Progressives* and Independents

In the 2010 elections you have an opportunity to change the history of America. A total of 36 Senate seats are up for grabs. Some of the incumbents are well meaning, but all of them need to go. 11 Senators are retiring and 2 have already been voted out in primaries. The more incumbents voted out in 2010, the stronger the message that the People have had enough. America needs to throw the current Republican and Democrat incumbents out, and replace them with citizens who actually care about the People.

It's no longer of question of Left and Right, it's a question of Right and Wrong. Democrat and Republican leadership are all on the Wrong side.

Washington is getting the message! Americans are fed up with business as usual and are sending Republican and Democrat incumbents packing. Keep it up.
The People can take back America!

Lack of Congressional regulation is the leading cause of the BP oil catastrophe that is devastating the Southern States. Imagine what will happen when one of America's nuclear plants has a similar "accident!" Congress has been in bed with Big Energy for far too long.
Numerous Congressional Members Deeply Invested in BP Stock, Reports Indicate
The only way to change this sad situation is to Change Congress!
Vote CONGRESS OUT
Former government officials hired to lobby as Congress looks to rewrite telecom law. These people are working against your freedoms!
The Democrats lack the courage to do anything and the Republicans are doing everything they can to sabotage the Obama Government.  And the reason is pure politics. These people ONLY care about getting reelected.

Press Secretary Robert Gibbs recently attacked the "Professional Left." Like so many in Washington, he is drinking the koolaid of belief that most people are happy with the Adminsitration and Congress. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Blame belongs with the 'professional right' and foolish compromise

The Senate and House Rules need to be revised and rewritten. Senator Tom Udall, NM, has proposed a Resolution to enable each newly constituted Senate to carry out its responsibility to
determine the Rules of its Proceedings at the beginning of each Congress. This Resolution represents the type of Change that is so desperately needed in Washington. Campaign Reform is another Change Washington must make.

America needs people in Washington who will stop waging war and selling arms
. Death and Lies and Solutions

America needs to cut off all aid to Israel until they end the Apartheid Occupation of Palestine.
What kind of peace can there be if the Palestinians continue to be forced to accept injustice!

While the House and Senate fiddle in Washington, The Department of Justice, and Homeland Security have been busy sowing seeds of dissension, fear, and hatred. Under the guise of new, rushed through laws following September 11, innocent citizens are being stalked, persecuted, and prosecuted. In former President Bush's eyes anyone who did not agree with him was a terrorist.

Twenty-Two Reasons Why American Working People Hate the State

voteoutincumbents.org does not endorse nor recommend any party or candidates

*
Progressives - Candidates favoring or advocating progress, change, improvement, or reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are. Progressives believe in social justice, pacifism, environmentalism, human rights, and consumer rights.

Many congressional candidates and activist organizations have released a statement opposing any more funding for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and inviting more candidates, incumbents, and organizations to sign on. They do not all agree with each other on many topics, including their reasons for opposing war spending.
But they all back this short statement:

"The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have cost Americans over $1 trillion in direct costs, and over $3 trillion altogether.  At a time when our national debt exceeds $13 trillion, we can no longer afford these wars.  It's time for Congress to reject any funding except to bring all our troops safely home."

On July 27, 2010 Congress voted yet another War Supplemental Bill. Most of the $58.8 billion contained in the supplemental will be used for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. 102 Democrats and 12 Republicans voted against.
Here's a list of the ones who voted for it. They should ALL be voted out this November

What has Congress done for you?
They are so wrapped up in power for power's sake that they have forgotten all about the people. Getting elected and holding office are the only driving forces behind most politicians. They promise better education. Where is it? They promise tax reform. Where is it? They promise a strong economy. Where is it?  They promise help with the high cost of health care and prescription drugs. Where is it? They promise election reform. Where is it? They promise to end corruption. Where is it? They promise peace. Where is it? Washington is full of empty promises. Instead of promoting Democracy, they promote Corporate Greed in the form of Blind Capitalism.
Where is Universal Health Care?
Where is the Public Option?
Just take a look at the mess they are making about Health Care. Rather than support a Medicare Bill for everyone, they are supporting the out-of-control Health Industry. The bill signed on March 23, while a start in the right direction, is a billion dollar bonus for health providers. President Obama and the Democrats allowed the Republicans to insert hundreds of amendments into the bill and, yet, not one Republican voted for it. Alan Grayson of Florida, introduced a bill on March 10, 2010 that would quite simply open up Medicare to all citizens and legal residents of America. Instead of the 2000+ page monstrosity recently enacted, Grayson's 4-page bill makes much more sense.

A NEW START?

America made an historical move and elected its first black president. Voters also sent a handful of legislators packing in the November, 2008 election. This was a good start, but there is so much more that needs to be done.

President Obama has made a number of campaign promises and it's up to the people to see that he keeps them. He is asking for public input - This is your chance to see that real Change takes place. Make your views known at:

REPUBLICRATS.

This is not a Democrat or Republican problem.
Members of the House and the Senate
have ALL lost sight  of the forest
while they concentrate on the trees of
greed, power, and influence.

In March, 2010 nearly 300 members of Congress signed on to a declaration reaffirming their commitment to "the unbreakable bond that exists between [U.S.] and the State of Israel", in a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. (Read more from haaretz.com)

Send your Congressional member a message - Ask them WHY you should vote for them? Ask them WHY they believe Israel is and will remain the United States’ most stalwart ally. They can't answer without using DoubleSpeak.

Nine Peace activists were killed on May 31 when Israeli troops boarded 6 ships carrying aid to Gaza. The ships were attacked on the high seas by armed Israeli commandos. The ships were towed to Israel and their passengers were all charged with entering Israel (where they didn't want to go) illegally and were deported. Israel has rejected a call for an open, transparent, international commission to look into this murderous raid.

Senator Chuck Schumer recently addressed a group of Orthodox Jewish Leaders. He admitted that a prime purpose of the Gaza blockade has nothing to do with keeping arms away from Hamas, but rather, is to economically strangle the people in Gaza -- meaning not Hamas, but the 1.5 million human beings (men, women and children) who live there.
He said, "...and to me, since the Palestinians in Gaza elected Hamas, while certainly there should be humanitarian aid and people not starving to death, to strangle them economically until they see that's not the way to go, makes sense."
If Harry Reid loses his reelection bid in November, Chuck Schumer could easily become the new Senate Majority Leader. Schumer, as chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, has failed to do anything to fix change antiquated Senate rules which have made the Senate an ineffective body. Like Reid, Schumer is up for reelection. They both need to be sent packing. Chuck Schumer: Mainstream Democrat

On May 20, 2010 Congress voted 410 to 4 with 16 not voting to pass the UNITED STATES-ISRAEL MISSILE DEFENSE COOPERATION AND SUPPORT ACT.  This is one of AIPAC's pet projects.
AIPAC: The Voice Of America Part 1: The Orange and the Pea - Part 2: The Treasonous Dollar Drain

The U.S. is marching in lock step with Apartheid Israel against the Palestinians and the entire World
On June 24, 2010, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) hailed passage of his resolution, which passed the Senate overwhelmingly on a voice vote, expressing the sense of the Senate that Israel has an undeniable right to self-defense and condemning the recent destabilizing actions by extremists aboard the Mavi Marmara. (Note: The rest of the World calls the members of the flotilla Peace Activists)

“Israel has the right to defend itself, as does every nation.  The Free Gaza Flotilla, hidden under a phony cloak of humanitarian relief, was a disgraceful and premeditated attempt to provoke violent confrontation with Israel,” said Senator Cornyn. “Israel needs loyal friends more than ever right now.  This resolution reaffirms that the United States is absolutely one of them, despite the mixed messages the Obama Administration has sent on that issue.”
On May 31, 2010 Israeli commandos illegally attacked 6 vessels on the high seas and killed at least 9 peace activists. The entire World has condemned this action and called it a criminal activity. The U.S. only "regrets" the incident and "trusts" Israel to investigate. This is akin to asking the wolf to investigate the dead chickens!
Flag
On June 1, 2010, the U.N. Security Council passed a watered down condemnation of the attack. “The Security Council deeply regrets the loss of life and injuries resulting from the use of force during the Israeli military operation in international waters against the convoy sailing to Gaza,” the statement said, adding that the 15-member body “in this context, condemns those acts which resulted in the loss” of lives.

The wording, at the insistence of the U.S. was designed to dilute demands for condemnation exclusively of Israel, which argues that its soldiers acted in self-defense in response to violent resistance to their interception of the vessels from passengers on board. After the raid, Israel seized hundreds of activists as well as the ships.

On June 2, 2010 the United Nations Human Rights Council approved a resolution that condemns Israel’s attack on a ship that was heading for the Gaza strip. The resolution has passed, with 32 votes in favor of it, but the United States voted against it. The resolution calls for a Goldstone type investigation being started on Israel’s actions, as well as for Israel’s blockade on Gaza being lifted immediately.

Congress is allowing all of this to happen. Each day the U.S. makes thousands more enemies of the people of the World. Protests have been held all over the world while President Obama and Congress only "regret" the incident! Former IDF member Rham Emanuel was in Israel just before this attack. Did he give Israel a green light to kill innocent civilians?
Was the Obama Administration involved in the Planning of the Israeli Attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla?

Why is Joe Lieberman
still a Committee Chairman?

"The Terrorists" hate us because the U.S. has been terrorizing them for decades. We have entered the Terrorism/Industrial Complex. Rights are disappearing. The economy is in chaos. Millions are in prisons or jails. The "Bush" Laws need to be changed or eliminated. Contact your Representative or Senator and tell them you want, you demand the return of your Rights.

Corporate profits are raising as the levels of corruption and greed have risen to previously unknown heights. While CEOs build mansions, stockholders are being wiped out. Retirement accounts have gone drastically downward. Hard working citizens are being fired. Millions have no health care. The economy is in shambles.

Washington refuses to end the disastrous Iraq War. In fact, Washington is greatly expanding the War in Afghanistan. Billions of dollars that could be used to fund Universal Healthcare are being thrown down a rat hole. Washington refuses to support the Global Warming Treaty. Washington refuses to support the treaty to ban the use of Land Mines. Washington refuses to support the treaty to ban the use of cluster bombs. Washington is one of 4 countries in the world who refuses to support the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. The Declaration sets out the individual and collective rights of indigenous peoples, as well as their rights to culture, identity, language, employment, health, education and other issues. Washington refuses to stop being the largest arms merchant in the world. Washington wants to place nuclear arms in space, further endangering the world. America has covert operations in 75 countries which are undermining World peace. Washington's view of a global economy is widening the gap between the haves and the have nots. Washington is one of only seven countries in the World who refuses to sign the Treaty for the Rights of Women - CEDAW. This treaty is the world’s most complete international agreement on basic human rights for women. Washington voted almost unanimously to support the December 2008 invasion of Palestine and the slaughter of innocent women and children by the Israeli Army. Washington is trying to kill the UN Human Rights Commission's Goldstone Report because it tells the truth about Israel's war crimes. Washington claims to want the Mid-East Peace Talks to resume, while Israel's government continues build settlements on occupied territory. American arms are killing innocent civilians in occupied Palestine.Washington needs to cut off funding to Apartheid Israel.

For real information on what is happening in Israel and Palestine, see http://theonlydemocracy.org/ The zealots in Washington have lost touch with reality. They don't give a damn about you or your needs.

The Democrats took control of the house in 2006 and have done nothing to end the wars. They voted to spend additional billions with no withdrawal plans. They also voted to give Telecommunication companies immunity from prosecution for their illegal wiretapping.

Now, they have allowed the World Financial Markets to melt down. Markets have seen their largest decline since the Depression. Congressional and Senate Committee after Committee has failed to regulate the markets and now they have bailed out Wall Street to the tune of more than a trillion...And nothing in their bills helps Main Street.

After over a decade of grassroots organizing and lobbying, the global water justice movement achieved a significant victory when the United Nations General Assembly voted overwhelmingly to affirm "the right to safe and clean drinking water and sanitation as a human right that is essential for the full enjoyment of life and all human rights." The resolution—put forward by Bolivia and co-sponsored by 35 states—passed overwhelmingly with 122 states voting in favor and 41 abstaining. The U.S., Canada, Britain, New Zealand, and Australia were among the cowards who abstained from voting.

In addition to Cleaning the Entire House, Bush and Cheney need to be put on trial.
They have both openly admitted to authorizing torture.
They, along with the House, and the Senate have all sold out to a group from the Capitalists Conservative Right. They are totally beholding to Washington Lobbyists. America needs Congressmen like Dennis Kucinich or Alan Grayson and Senators like Russ Feingold, Tom Udall, or Bernie Sanders. These legislators may be worth keeping in Washington, but the reality is that the only Change that will benefit the People is complete Change in Washington.

Vote Out All Incumbents

An essay by Thomas Daly

It has become evident that out Life, our Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness have been jeopardized beyond endurance by the willful acts of a political elite which has betrayed our Common Welfare, the Promise of the Constitution, and the Meaning of America.

Although ever posing as the country's – and the people's – central but divergent legislative forum, Congress and the Senate have long been deceptively converted into a distant, tightly guarded conclave, wholly dedicated to its own perpetual incumbency as a despotic national directorate; a ruling aristocracy, embracing none but indoctrinated and pre-indentured Republicans and Democrats.

Central to their power is the unrestrained capacity to surreptitiously bleed-off, and confiscate an ever larger measure of productive people's earnings and thus abridge their right to acquire property and the validly of unencumbered private ownership.

Today it is the flagrant encroachment upon the people's constituted rights that reveals a design to reduce the populace into divided, non-cohesive clusters of politically muzzled factions, stripped of common will.

The People's given right to freely choose their representatives has been artfully debased. Vast streams of clouded money - hundreds of millions annually – soiled by pandering and graft determine who will run and who will not, who is to be supported and who is not. Party labels notwithstanding, money is then laundered into the campaigns of those deemed to have honed the slickest tongues with which to bedazzle an already stupefied electorate. Those perceived to pose a threat to the common goals and welfare of Congress as a two-faced ruling dynasty need not apply.

Because the average citizen is no longer able to buy into the high stakes game, We, the People, have become the fodder on which politicians feed.

Primary elections have come to be a mocking ruse which limits ballot entry to highly-financed, consummate political practitioners, all party loyalists. Candidates for Congress and the Senate with few exceptions, are predisposed by money-raking party overlords and their wide ranging cohorts. Voter opinion is deemed disruptive, a menace to the system, and has effectively been rendered impotent. The electorate, as such, has been goaded into political captivity where it is still allowed to vote in general elections – but only as to the cut and color of the uniforms the guards will wear.

At this point both houses of Congress, conceived to be the lungs by which freedom breathes, are deadly cancers in the weakened body of democracy.

America's industrial economy, backbone of all the people's being, is critically injured, sick and bleeding; it needs transfusions and intensive care, not placebos and a sedative. Once freed from bureaucratic lording and politically licensed plunder, the economy will be able to recuperate and provide a decent, justly earned living for all Americans able and willing to participate, as well as adequately cater to deserving social needs.

America's recovery will not originate in Moscow, Baghdad, Kabul, Tel Aviv, Rio, Munich, Tokyo, Madrid, or Mexico City; it must be mounted in the silenced halls of industry, the shuttered factories, throughout the towns and cities of America.

For most all incumbents of either party to run for reelection amidst the present economic turmoil, grinding unemployment, budgets based on borrowed funds, smoldering civil unrest, and lack of public confidence in Congress, shows a degree of insolence that is incompatible with conscientious, innovative, and beneficial governance. Incumbents pointing at performance, claiming character and courage, honesty, vision, expertise and leadership, is, at best, perplexing, if not a rankling recitation of patent falsehoods.

A universal lack of purpose, insight and awareness can no longer be obscured, tolerated or ignored. Such glaring absence of fundamental human values has made for farcical theatrics to assume the role of just and prudent leadership. Their misconduct, their skewed morals – not the people's – have broken families and torn the ethics, the moral fiber of society.
